The €5 funnel vs the €20,99 funnel — stop soaking your shoes
Two ways to fill your water tank.
Same fresh-water top-up. One leaves you standing in a puddle in front of the whole aire. The other clips onto your inlet and pours straight in.
One hand. About 30 seconds. Dry shoes. A rigid EU-made funnel that clips onto your 78mm fill port — no tools, no drilling.
€20,99 · fits the 6 common vans · ships from the EU, tracked, 3–7 days
It's never the driving. It's the fill cap.
You pull up, you've earned the spot — and then comes the bit nobody films on purpose. One hand wrestling the hose, one on the cap, and the second the water turns on it fights back: a splash off the rim, a dribble down the bodywork, that cold splat across your shoes.
In front of the whole stellplatz. It's a small thing. It's also every single fill, every trip. And you brace for it — when you shouldn't have to.
Three ways to fill. Two of them fail.
You've probably tried at least one of these. Here's why two of them keep your socks wet — and one doesn't.
No control at all
It sprays off the rim, runs down the wall, and soaks whoever's holding it. Free — if you don't count the wet socks and the bodywork you wipe down after.
Looks like the fix. Isn't.
The soft plastic sags off the lip under the weight of the water, leaks down the wall, and gives up after about three fills. Then you buy another one. And another.
Clips on. Stays put. Pours clean.
Rigid EU-made PETG, sized to lock onto the 78mm inlet instead of flopping off. Guides the water straight in — one hand, about 30 seconds, the same on fill #1 and fill #100.
Clip. Pour. Done. About 30 seconds.

No tools, no drilling, no second person holding the hose. It comes off just as fast and lives in a door pocket.

"Brilliant product. Fits in my campervan water inlet. Solves that problem of filling the water tank when filling from a canister. Thanks!"

"Small thing but makes a real difference. Filling the water tank used to mean wet hands and water running down the side of the van. This funnel fits perfectly on the inlet, guides everything straight in. Took 5 seconds to attach. Ordered a second one for a friend's motorhome."
"Great addition to the van, quality product, works as advertised."

The cheap funnel isn't the cheap option.
A €5 funnel that dies in three fills is €5 you spend again next month — and again next season — plus the wet shoes in between. One rigid funnel that holds its shape is €20,99, once. The maths only looks close until the second time you're standing in a puddle.
Buy once, stay dry. That's the whole pitch.
Built for 78mm inlets — not "universal".
That's the whole reason it stays on while the floppy one slips off. It's sized for the standard 78mm fresh-water inlet on the most common base vehicles. Not sure about yours? Send a photo of your fill port before you order and we'll tell you straight.
If it's not the dry side, send it back.
Clip it on, fill the tank a few times, see for yourself. Not for you? Send it back within 14 days. It's EU-made and covered by a 2-year warranty, and if you're unsure it'll fit, send a photo of your inlet first and we'll check before you spend a cent.
Wet shoes, or dry shoes. Your call.
One rigid funnel, €20,99. Clip it on, pour one-handed, walk away dry — and never wrestle the hose in front of the whole aire again. Ships fast from the EU; your next fresh-water stop could be the easy part.

Does it leak at all?
Honest answer: it's a big improvement, not magic. It guides the bulk of the water straight into the tank and keeps it off your shoes and the bodywork — far less mess than a bare hose or a floppy funnel. On some inlets a few drops can still escape; one verified buyer called it "much better than without the funnel" even though "there's still some water leaking away" on his particular port. Dramatically less mess, not a sealed pipe.
Why not just buy the €5 funnel?
Because the €5 one is soft plastic — it sags off the lip under the weight of the water, leaks down the wall, and warps in the sun after about three fills. Then you buy another. This is rigid PETG, EU-made in Romania, sized to lock onto the 78mm inlet so it keeps its shape and pours the same clean way for seasons. Buy once, stay dry.
Will it fit my van?
It's made for the standard 78mm fresh-water inlet and the 6 common base vehicles: Ducato, Sprinter, Crafter, Transit, Boxer and Jumper. We never say "universal". Not certain about yours? Send us a photo of your fill port before ordering and we'll tell you straight whether it clips on.
Do I need any tools or drilling?
No. You hold it up to the port, push it on until it clips, and pour. No tools, no drilling, nothing permanent — it comes off just as easily and stores in a door pocket. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.
Shipping and returns?
Ships from inside the EU, tracked, usually 3–7 days — no customs surprises. You get 14-day returns and a 2-year warranty: clip it on, try it on your next fill, and send it back within 14 days if it's not for you.
