You shut it before you left. Two hours later you glance back and it's standing open again. The window isn't broken. The handle just can't hold on.

Motorway, cruise on, everyone settled. Then you catch it in the mirror — the rear window standing off its seal, flapping in the slipstream. You pull into the next lay-by, shut it, click it, drive on. Twenty minutes later you're checking again.

And if it's raining, you're not just annoyed. You're doing sums about upholstery that never really dries.

If you've ever pulled over to close a window you had already closed — this is for you.

Why it opens itself while you drive

The acrylic windows on most European motorhomes and caravans shut on one small plastic handle you turn. Nothing holds that handle in place once it's turned — friction alone does the job, and friction is exactly what vibration eats.

So every bad road surface backs the handle off by a fraction. An hour of that and it has rotated far enough for the pane to lift. Then the slipstream does the rest, and the faster you go, the harder it pulls.

This is why closing it harder never fixes it. You're not fighting a loose window. You're fighting a handle nothing is holding.

What people try first

Tape across the handle, which lets go in the sun and leaves residue on the frame. A wedge jammed in the channel, which drops on the floor at the first pothole. Or the one everybody ends up on: checking it every twenty minutes for the whole trip, which isn't a fix — it's a job you gave yourself.

The fix

Block the handle, and the window has no way to open.

A small precision-printed clip slides over the handle and sits against it. The handle physically cannot rotate — so no amount of vibration can back it off, and the pane stays where you put it for the whole journey.

It can't rotate, so it can't open — not at 90, not at 130, not on a farm track.
Comes off with one hand, from inside — in a second, without tools. It blocks the handle, it never traps you.
Nothing left to check — fit it once and stop looking back.

The question everyone asks first

“Can I still get the window open in a hurry?”

Yes — it lifts off with one hand from inside, no tools, in about a second. Your habitation window stays a usable emergency exit. The clip blocks the handle from turning on its own; it does not lock you in, and it cannot be removed from outside.

Camperista precision-printed camper window lock for Seitz and Dometic windows

It clips straight onto the Seitz or Dometic handle in about five seconds per window — no tools, no drilling, no adhesive — and lifts off without a mark. Which also makes it the only upgrade a rented or leased van allows.

Fitted in seconds — no tools, no drilling

1

Hook it over the handle

2

Press until it clicks

3

Drive. Don't look back.

The material question, answered

Precision-printed in PETG — the plastic that actually lives outside.

Heat-rated to ~70°C — won't soften or warp in summer sun.
UV-stable — won't go brittle or yellow, season after season.
Holds through thousands of kilometres of vibration — that's the whole point.
